The building is between East 12th and East 14th streets and is adjacent to the Metro Green Line Robert Street station. The building entrance is at the curved exterior wall near the southeast end of the building.

All deliveries are to be made at the loading dock, at the back of the building. This includes correspondence or payment that is hand delivered/dropped off for any MDH program.

To access the loading dock: from Cedar Street, turn onto East Columbus Avenue, located at the Capitol Complex between the Centennial Building and the National Guard Armory. Then turn left onto East Central Park Place. The loading dock is about a half block up, on the right side.

Dock staff will accept your delivery and contact the appropriate staff. Dock hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Parking suggestions:

Note: Use West University Avenue at the Capitol Complex for two-way traffic to parking on either side of the light rail tracks.

• Metered Centennial Ramp, Orange Level, on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
• Surface lot on East 14th Street, north of the Stassen Revenue Building and west of Jackson Street.
• Metered street parking along Cedar Street and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
• Metered surface on the corner of Sherburne Avenue and Cedar Street.
• Public parking at the Capitol Complex

Driving directions

From the north, on Interstate 35 East

• Take the University Avenue exit, number 107C, toward the State Capitol.
• Turn right onto University Avenue and then left onto North Robert Street.
• The Freeman Building is on the west side of Robert Street, between East 12th and East 14th streets.
• See parking suggestions above: From University Avenue, turn left onto either Jackson Street or Robert Street, and then turn onto East 14th Street.
• OR, continue on University Avenue and turn left onto Park Street; follow it around the Capitol, where it becomes Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A surface lot and street parking is on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; more street parking is right, on Cedar Street; and a surface lot is left on Cedar Street, at Sherburne Avenue.

From the south, on Interstate 35 East

• Take the 11th Street exit, number 106C, and turn left onto Robert Street.
• The Freeman Building is on the west side of Robert Street, between East 12th and East 14th streets.
• See parking suggestions above: From East 11th Street, turn left onto Cedar Street, to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard or to Sherburne Avenue.
• OR, continue on East 11th Street and turn left onto either Robert Street or Jackson Street, to East 14th Street.

From the east, on Interstate 94

• Take the 12th Street exit, number 242A, toward the State Capitol.
• Merge onto East 12th Street and turn left onto Robert Street.
• The Freeman Building is on the west side of Robert Street, between East 12th and East 14th streets.

• Turn left onto Wabasha Street.
