Medica Community Health Plan (MCHP) (formerly known as Medica Health Plans of Wisconsin) was initially licensed as an HMO in the State of Wisconsin in 1996. In 2013, MCHP became licensed as a Service Corporation in the State of Wisconsin and also expanded its license into the State of Minnesota as a MN Statute 62C Corporation. In 2018 MCHP changed its license back to an HMO in the State of Wisconsin and withdrew its MN Statute 62C license in the State of Minnesota. Medica Community Health Plan is currently licensed as a foreign HMO in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Medica was licensed as an HMO in Minnesota in 2020.
