CJD Statistics

In conjunction with CDC, MDH has been involved in national surveillance for CJD. Surveillance includes ongoing review of state vital statistics data for deaths related to CJD. Deaths among persons <55 years of age are further investigated as possible variant CJD cases. To date, no cases of variant CJD have been identified in Minnesota.
