Community Engagement Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Assessment for Public Health Professionals
This assessment supports public health professionals to advance health equity by understanding key competencies for authentic engagement.
Taking the assessment as an individual can guide professional growth. Taking the assessment as a group and comparing your results can provide an insight to workforce development across your team.
The MDH Community Engagement Plan calls for increasing the "knowledge, skills, and abilities of MDH staff to jointly develop public health processes, products, and policies with community partners." This self-assessment is part of the MDH effort to advance health equity by strengthening community engagement in its workforce.
This self-assessment should take 15 to 20 minutes to complete. To score your assessment, you should print your responses before you submit the survey. You can then use the scoring sheet to help you tabulate your self-assessment score.
